Academic Year: Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm
Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7am - 6pm
May include evenings and weekends.

Job Summary
The Phoenix College Facilities Department is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable turf and field maintenance professional to support the care and upkeep of the college’s athletic fields. This temporary role involves regularly inspecting the fields, providing weekly recommendations to the groundskeepers and Maintenance Operations Manager, and ensuring that all playing surfaces remain safe, professional, and well-maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
- Guiding the groundskeeping team with ongoing tasks and best practices
- Monitoring and managing the Baseline irrigation system as needed
- Collaborating with the Maintenance Operations Manager to develop effective maintenance processes and support smooth daily operations
The ideal candidate is a team player with strong communication skills and the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A cooperative, solutions-oriented mindset when working with team members is essential.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of relevant work experience in turf management, field maintenance, or a similar role as described above OR
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience in turf management, field maintenance, or a similar role as described above
Special Working Conditions
- May involve standing for long periods, walking across large facilities, lifting up to [50 lbs], or operating equipment.
- Must ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, operational standards, and regulatory requirements
- May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call availability depending on operational needs.
- May require driving or traveling to multiple operational locations or campuses.
