Preble Street’s mission is to provide accessible barrier-free services to empower people experiencing problems with homelessness, housing, hunger, and poverty, and to advocate for solutions to these problems.
Preble Street is seeking Full-Time Teen Services Caseworkers who will be working at Preble Street’s Teen Center in Portland,for the following shifts:
- Monday-Friday: Day shift, hours may vary
- Sunday-Thursday: 12:30PM-9:00PM
- Tuesday-Saturday: 12:30PM-9:00PM
Requirements of the Teen Services Caseworker:
- A Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and experience working with youth experiencing homelessness, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Qualified candidates will also have an understanding of, and positive regard for, people who are experiencing homelessness; an understanding of social work theory and practice; familiarity with community resources, and an appreciation of low-barrier service challenges.
- Eligibility for employment with Teen Services requires that staff be at least 21 years of age; undergo and pass a physical examination, which includes a test for TB.
- Hold certification or become certified in First Aid (on-site training opportunities offered)
Benefits of the Job:
- Hourly compensation of $20.00/hour
- Additional pay of $1.00 per hour for all hours worked in direct service roles between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm.

Responsibilities of the Teen Services Caseworker:
- Provides comprehensive case management and housing-related services while ensuring the safety of clients and program spaces, in a safe, low-barrier environment, to a population of youths between the ages of 12-21.
- Develop, implement, assess, and update client-driven service plans, with follow-through, regular monitoring, and support to the client throughout each stage of the plan.
- Develop, implement, assess and update client-driven housing support plans, with follow-through, regular monitoring and appropriate timely support to the client throughout each stage of the plan inclusive of addressing barriers to attaining or maintaining housing.
- Ensures the collection, documentation and reporting of information and data as required.
- Works as a member of the Teen Services team to support and achieve outcomes aligned with program goals and the agency mission.
