The Village At Summerville has a wonderful opportunity for a Director of Culinary Services. This leadership position will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Dining Department. This position will report to the Executive Director with a strong relationship with the Divisional Director of Culinary Services.
Responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for service and operational excellence in quality, presentation, and overall dining experience, meeting and exceeding the expectation of PCSC residents.
- Assuring quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and ensure that the dining services department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Requisitioning and inspecting food, supplies, and equipment to maintain stock levels with support of the Chef and ensuring standards of quality are met.
- Managing dining staff including the chef, servers, cooks, and utility workers to achieve operating efficiencies in quality of service, resident satisfaction and financial performance.
- Maintaining quality-dining services and staffing within the prescribed budget.
- Making frequent inspections of all work, storage, and serving areas to determine that regulations governing food safety and sanitation are followed.
- Preparing cleaning schedule, production worksheet and staff schedules along with completing staff reviews.
- Interviewing, orientating, and training staff to our culture and expectations.
Requirements
Education, Experience and Skills:
Education: Associates Degree, Certified Dietary Manager Certification, along with ServSafe Certification
Experience: Three or more years in a supervisory culinary role
Skill: Proficiency in Microsoft software programs. Strong planning, organizing, leadership and team management skills. Comprehensive knowledge of food service systems and administration.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Experience: Direct experience working in senior living as a culinary supervisor.
