About the Role
A global leader in renewable energy is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer - Level II to support a growing portfolio of utility-scale energy assets. This individual will join the Operations & Maintenance team to provide critical support in high-voltage systems, substations, relay and protection schemes, and SCADA monitoring systems. This hybrid role is based in Irving, TX and includes periodic travel to field sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for operational renewable energy projects, with a focus on high-voltage electrical systems and substation equipment.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the performance and reliability of power protection systems.
- Collaborate with site operations teams and external vendors on maintenance, commissioning, and system upgrades.
- Monitor and analyze system data using SCADA and other digital platforms.
- Participate in root cause analysis for electrical system failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards related to electrical systems.
- Travel to project sites as needed to provide technical oversight and hands-on support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- 2-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the operational phase of renewable energy projects.
- Proficient in high-voltage systems, including substations and transmission infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with protective relays, SCADA systems, and power protection design.
- Background in utility-scale renewable energy, substation maintenance, or transmission operations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel to field locations as needed.
