Logistics Specialist

The Operations Specialist is responsible for logistics coordination across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, and exports to and imports from the company's global affiliates and suppliers. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient supply chain operations.

The Operations Specialist will Monitor performance of transportation companies/Freight forwarders for administration of claims; (demurrage/detention); liaise with stakeholders in case of delays vs. schedule; review operational reports, ensuring on-time deliveries and provide accurate information to customers regarding order status.

🔧 Core Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics strategy across North America and global trade lanes
• Monitor and evaluate transportation partners to improve delivery performance and resolve non-conformance issues (e.g., demurrage/detention claims)
• Support shipment documentation and maintain accurate freight records
• Liaise cross-functionally with Sales, Technical, and Business Development teams to align product knowledge and delivery outcomes
• Implement cost-effective freight strategies while maintaining policy and compliance standards

🤝 Collaboration & Communication

• Build and maintain strong relationships with freight carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure timely, professional communication on delivery timelines and order status
• Engage in performance reviews and reporting to identify logistics improvements

📊 Tools & Systems

• Utilize JD Edwards, CRM, FMIS, and customer platforms to manage logistics workflows and data accuracy
• Analyze performance metrics and identify cost-saving opportunities

🧠 Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred)
• 3-5 years of experience in logistics/operations with international scope
• Proficiency in JD Edwards, CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite or SAP
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and multitasking in fast-paced environments
• Knowledge of transportation and trade regulations (DOT, IMDG, IATA preferred)
• Self-driven, flexible, and highly accountable for supply chain performance
