To ensure all patients are roomed and scanned efficiently, as well as perform scheduling duties in an outpatient facility.
Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. The following are the essential functions of the job.
Duties:
- Ensure patients are properly roomed based on scheduled time.
- Ensure walk in x-rays are roomed based on walk in time.
- Triage patients and assist with prepping the patient for their exam including directing them to changing rooms to gown, performing screening questionnaires, etc.
- Monitor the schedule for improper tagging of patients.
- Review the delay report to investigate when patients leave or reschedule after they have arrived for their appointment.
- Document reasons for delays.
- Work with the Tech Manager and Director of Radiology to assist with developing protocols to improve the flow of patients.
- Assist with sending biopsy specimens to the labs for pathology.
- Verify patient information, prior exams and history, and thoroughly document necessary information in RIS system.
- Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
- A minimum of one year previous medical office experience (radiology preferred).
- Ability to do essential duties.
- Ability to read, understand, write, speak and follow English instructions. Bilingual abilities preferred.

Physical Demands:
- Standing - This position frequently requires standing for short periods of time for patient assessment, positioning patient for procedure, communicating with all facility personnel, faxing, copying and completing other job related duties.
- Walking - This position consistently requires walking short distances of up to 100 yards to communicate with patients, staff, doctors, vendors, and direct report.
- Sitting - This position consistently requires sitting to configure and enter data needed for electronic medical charts, diagnostic procedures on a RIS and PACS computer system and other essential job duties.
- Lifting - This position frequently requires lifting objects weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. to carry out essential job duties and deal with patients with physical disabilities and/or disorders.
- Carrying - This position occasionally requires carrying objects weighing up a maximum of 25 lbs. for short distances to carry out essential job related duties.
- Pushing - This position occasionally requires pushing objects weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Pulling - This position occasionally requires pulling objects weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. to assist patients while at the facility for a required procedure and/or perform various job related functions.

Explanation: This position has access to confidential information such as social security numbers, dates of birth, and HIPAA information for all patients seen at the outpatient facility.
Does this position have access to or handle company funds? Yes
Explanation: This position has access to limited company funds consisting of co-pays and deductible amounts collected by cash, check or credit card on a daily basis from patients seen at the facility.
Is it important to this position the incumbent be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English? Yes
Explanation: A majority of affiliated personnel and patients communicate with our business in English. Bilingual abilities are preferred.
What kind of work experience (including length of time), training, and/or level of education is necessary for this position? This position requires a minimum of one year of previous medical office experience, radiology is preferred. Previous experience in scheduling is required. Authorization/verification is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of Nevada insurance carriers is preferred.
List any technical skills (typing, computer skills, etc.): The skills required by this position include, but are not limited to, typing, computer literacy, faxing, scanning, copying, and knowledge of data entry on a RIS system.
List other special training and/or abilities are necessary to qualify for this position? The Administrative Staff I must possess skills, aptitudes, and abilities to perform each essential job duty proficiently. Superior interpersonal and problem solving skills are required for this position to communicate with staff and patients. Bilingual abilities are preferred

Explanation: The working environment is in a medical office setting that can be moderately loud at times. This position will carry out his/her duties in an average sized workspace.
