The Program Administration Specialist supports and leads efforts in both the UPWARDS Network and Semiconductors at Purdue Initiative. Working in conjunction with respective faculty leads, international partners, and relevant Purdue units, the position will coordinate and execute multi-weeklong international programs visiting Purdue’s West Lafayette campus for the UPWARDS Network at Purdue. Tasks include, but are not limited to, overall program logistics, communication strategy and execution, annual reporting, and monitoring of budget and expenditures. Support faculty, staff, and Purdue units in the Semiconductors at Purdue Initiative. Support operational and program plans to achieve and expand measurable results and outcomes in supporting the research and workforce development objectives within the budgets of the associated projects and programs. The position will report to the Manager for Strategic Initiatives and support the faculty leads of the UPWARDS Network and Semiconductor Initiative at Purdue. The position will also be expected to develop effective working relationships with units and offices within Purdue as well as with domestic and international partners and government organizations.

Support Faculty in UPWARDS Network Program
- Support and coordinate international visitor programs (up to two per year) from countries such as Japan, Korea, and India with estimated groups of 20 visitors.
- Assist with overall program logistics including reserving hotel room blocks, space/classrooms for program sessions and workshops, and close monitoring of program budget and expenditure approvals.
- Establish appropriate data and information gathering processes for reporting to track project goals and deliverables to meet sponsor, partner organization and internal reporting obligations.
- Coordinate internal and external communication plan, marketing assets and appropriate distribution through media channels for programs. Update website and flyers accordingly.
- Work with various units and faculty leads to ensure financial and contractual integrity of the programs and annual reports, including facilitate and track legal agreements, contracts, and export control process.
Support Semiconductor at Purdue Initiative
- Support faculty leads and stakeholders to develop, manage and assess education training programs that will effectively and efficiently meet workforce development objectives for projects associated with the semiconductor initiative.
- Collaborate on and support research and development efforts, including budget management and tracking of deliverables.
- Facilitate communication and foster relationships with relevant internal and external units and organizations.
- Work in partnership with faculty principle investigators in managing multiple large projects associated with the semiconductor initiative.
Project Planning, Relationship Management, and Operation Improvement
- Work with internal and external partners to plan and execute relevant programs and projects. This includes multi-weeklong on campus visitor programs, seminars, workshops, project review meetings, visits, etc.
- Identify operational, programmatic, and resource improvement opportunities and develop strategy to implement programmatic and operational improvement plan.
- Collaborate with internal Purdue units, faculty, staff, and students, as well as external partners including domestic and international partners, industry, and government.

Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
- Bachelor's degree
- Two (2) years of experience in project management in research or higher education
Skills needed:
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Project management and organizational skills
- Effective cross-cultural communication and teamwork, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer relations skills with the ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, and colleagues in a professional and collegial manner
- Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines and objectives
- Ability to maintain composure under stress and tight schedule
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Preferred:
- Foreign language skills
- Project/program planning and execution experience
