In this role, you will play a pivotal part in QPS’ continued expansion of our bioanalytical capabilities to support small molecule, antibody drug conjugate, protein, and gene therapy drug development.
The LC-MS group’s expertise lies in the quantitation of small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, proteins, and metabolite biomarkers by various mass spectrometric (LC-MS/MS, LC‑HRMS, hybrid/immunoaffinity mass spec), and hybridization-LC-fluorescence techniques. We have been pivotal in supporting most of the HIV drugs, most of the HBV/HCV drugs, one of the first 3 ADCs, and 6 of the last 9 gene therapy products approved by FDA.”

The Job*
- Oversee the installation and repair of the LC, LC-MS/MS, and other associate analytical equipment from multiple vendors
- Troubleshoot LC-MS/MS problems by means of sophisticated diagnostic instrumentation processes
- Responsible for planned preventive maintenance, calibration and regular maintenance of the LC-MS/MS and other associated analytical equipment
- Serve as a liaison to IT with regard to mass spec software and computers
- Provide assistance and perform functions related to software validation for MSS
- Responsible for regular maintenance of appropriate databases
- Responsible for determining cost saving initiatives for supplies and repairs of mass spec equipment
- Oversee the implementation of new technology for bioanalytical operations
- Overall responsibility for bioanalytical operations’ mass spec laboratories
- Provide continuous training and development of scientific staff

Requirements*
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent training and experience
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in the manufacture, installation and/or maintenance of analytical equipment
- Demonstrated mastery in LC techniques, practices and theories
- Familiarity with the optics of LC-MS/MS and other analytical equipment
