The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the timely payment of all liabilities.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Comply with government regulations and company policies.
  • Answer all phone calls pertaining to outstanding Accounts Payable (A/P) invoices.
  • Check vendor statements – clear, make calls on any problems with statements
  • Check Receiving Reports to P.O.’s.
  • Pay all priority and special invoices, all freight invoices.
  • Reconcile A/P payroll cleared checks.
  • Close Month End (M/E) A/P.
  • Enter all manual checks.
  • Commission – balance – then gets approved commission report, input pay request, then run checks, file check copy.
  • Run priority and regular A/P.
  • Balance and close M/E labor report.
  • Distribute M/E reports. Pull a labor variance run, check, then distribute to proper people.
  • File all A/P check copies manually and/or electronically.
  • BIPs (Betterments In Process) – Balance, adjust, find backup invoices, run copies, file, and save for capitalization.
  • Assign A/P vendor # and set up in the system.
  • Run freight variance report.
  • Work with purchasing department on the direct ship, credit memo, any problems on P.O.’s, and make corrections on your report and use for cash projections.
  • As needed, any special projects for the Accounting Supervisor.
  • Back up for costing and postage.
  • Attend work as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or specified by your supervisor.
  • Arrive for work on time.
  • Have a basic knowledge of computer skills.
  • Must have basic mathematic skills.
  • Contribute to team effort by working with others and accomplishing related functions as needed.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures.

Education & Experience: *High School or GED required.
Skills: Advanced computer skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools. Basic math skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Answers to Controller. Must be able to accurately receive and understand instructions from supervisor to determine if further instruction is required before attempting to complete the task assigned. It is essential that the employee be able to work with all employees of the RAE team and show a spirit of cooperation with others in the organization. Must be willing to ask and to answer questions as needed.

The job is conducted primarily in an office setting, with occasional exposure to the manufacturing environments including moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
