Assistant Controller – Fantastic Opportunity with Growth to CFO
Hybrid (3 days in-office / 2 days remote)
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller/Senior Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a CFO position--ability to promote growth for an established organization is critical. CPA/Advanced degree a plus!
Key Responsibilities:
- Essential: experience growing an organization by collaborating with sales and operations teams
- Oversee daily accounting operations (GL, A/R, A/P, bank reconciliations)
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
- Manage P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and vendor payments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field - advanced degree a plus!
- 10 years in accounting, industry knowledge w/ freight forwarding/logistics a plus
- Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) Excel
