Job Overview:
Residence in Marriott is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping supervisor to lead our housekeeping department. This leadership role is essential to delivering the exceptional guest experience that the Marriott brand is known for.
The Housekeeping supervisor will be responsible for managing all housekeeping operations, ensuring rooms and public spaces meet brand standards, and fostering a team culture of cleanliness, efficiency, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership
- Oversee all housekeeping operations including guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house areas.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping activities and delegate tasks to ensure timely and high-quality service.
- Ensure rooms are cleaned and inspected according to Marriott brand standards.
- Team Management
- Hire, train, schedule, and manage housekeeping and laundry staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain a positive, productive, and respectful work environment.
- Quality Control & Inspections
- Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house for cleanliness, maintenance, and adherence to Marriott standards.
- Immediately address and correct deficiencies.
- Inventory & Cost Management
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest room amenities.
- Manage supply orders within budget and avoid waste.
- Assist in managing labor costs and overtime hours in accordance with property policies.
- Guest Service
- Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints regarding housekeeping services.
- Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction and report feedback to management.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to all Marriott brand guidelines, health department standards, and OSHA safety protocols.
- Train staff on chemical handling, equipment use, and emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a housekeeping supervisory or management role, preferably within a Marriott-branded hotel.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, and safety practices.
- Familiarity with Marriott systems and standards (e.g., MGS, Guest Voice, Brand Standard Audit process) preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent required; a degree in Hospitality or related field is a plus.
