Porter House, part of the Restaurant Collection at the Deutsche Bank Center, is seeking a host for immediate hire.
Candidates must possess superior communication and interpersonal skills, have a flexible and positive attitude, and value punctuality and reliability. The ideal candidate should be able to multitask with a smile and be interested in all things food & wine.
Requirements:
2 years experience at a high volume restaurant in NYC
Previous Host experience
Job requirements include (but are not limited to):
Use of reservation system OpenTable
Knowledge of guests and VIPs coming in for each shift
Table numbers and etiquette for seating guests
Multi-line phone calls
Booking and managing reservations
Cleaning and stuffing menus
Taking to go orders
Communication with management and floor about requests, special needs, VIPs
Must be able to effectively handle busy shifts.
Lead a busy shift by setting friendly service standards as front line and first contact with guests.
Have a strong presence
Maintain professionalism, patience and calm under pressure
We are open for lunch and dinner service 7 days a week, and candidates should have open availability. This is a full-time position.
