Resident Engagement Coordinator – Per Diem Immediate Opportunity

RiverSpring Living is seeking a Resident Engagement Coordinator to join our dynamic team of professionals at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale!
The Hebrew Home at Riverdale by RiverSpring Living, a world-renowned long-term care organization located in Riverdale – North Bronx, serves over 18,000 older adults every day, both in the greater New York community and on our beautiful 32-acre campus overlooking the Hudson River. RiverSpring Living provides a full range of care solutions including nursing home care, managed long term care, assisted living programs, senior housing, rehabilitation services and specialized services such as elder abuse prevention and memory care.
The role of the Resident Engagement Coordinator Assist in the development and implementation of a facility wide and off-site activities program conducive to the continuation and strengthening of family ties and friendships, as well as the pursuit of intellectual, social and recreational interests aimed at maximizing individual potential to remain functionally independent within the community.
Schedule : Weekends and Evenings 4:00pm – 8:00pm

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and coordinate a wide variety of recreational, leisure, educational and community service programs
- Ensuring activities are running smoothly
- Visit with residents to encourage attendance at ALR activities
- Plan and provide individual/group treatment services via one to one interaction/discussion groups to improve social, emotional, cognitive and physical functional behaviors.
- Orient new residents to activities that are available within the ALR setting and within the HHAR facility
- Inform residents of changes to scheduled activities within timely manner
- Complete recreation assessments and quarterly documentation
- Associates degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school with a major in recreation with at least four to six years of professional work experience in therapeutic recreation
- Ability to use computer hardware and software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, E-mail, Access and PowerPoint
- $27.4725 Hourly
