This Assistant Controller position consists of regulating the day-to-day of the accounting staff and providing updates to the Controller. What you get to do every day
- Steer the accounting team during the closing process to warrant deadlines are met
- Backfill for Controller as provided
- Establish relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
- Make sure regular account reconciliation to completion
- Back implementation and make sure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
- Put together diversified policies, procedures, and technical accounting analyses
- Sort out and construct Ad Hoc financial reports
- Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
- Facilitate to ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, development, and goal setting
- Pinpoint and develop process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
- Seasoned preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
- Extra assignments if necessary
- Drive accountability and the meeting of deliverables
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of CPA
- Big 4 Accounting Firm experience
- Month end closings experience preferred
- Deep understanding of Budget Processes
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Remarkable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
- 2 years of general ledger accounting experience
- CPA certification a plus
