Collector III

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Collector III in the financial industry, based in Eagan, Minnesota. In this role, you will be crucial in managing and maintaining customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and upholding the highest standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Engage in the accurate and efficient processing of customer payments and updating of account records.
• Utilize effective communication and negotiation skills to encourage timely payments on overdue accounts.
• Monitor customer account activity and take necessary action based on their financial situations and account status.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to collections.
• Utilize exceptional debt recovery techniques to manage delinquencies and facilitate debt repayment.
• Interact with customers via telephone, mail, or in-person visits to determine reasons for overdue payments and review the terms of sales, services, or credit contracts.
• Leverage knowledge of collection processes and customer service skills to resolve customer inquiries and issues.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of credit and payment processing procedures.
• Utilize Microsoft Word and other relevant collections software to accurately document and record customer/client information.
• Provide constructive performance feedback and support to the team, demonstrating basic mentoring skills.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in Customer Service and Sales
• Proficient in Procedures and Payment Processing
• Skilled user of Microsoft Word and other relevant software
• Ability to Review and understand Contracts
• Knowledge of time management tools such as 'About Time'
• Experience in providing Workstation Support
• Understanding of Merchandising practices
• Familiarity with Check Processing and Collection Processes
• Ability to Perform Ad Hoc Financial tasks
• Experience in Claim Administration
• Knowledge of relevant Regulations, Credit systems, and Negotiation techniques
• Ability to adhere to Company Policy
• Experience handling Customer Accounts, Delinquencies, and Recovery processes
• Previous role as a Collector would be advantageous
• Excellent Written Communication skills
• Understanding of Debt management and Overdraft policies.
