Cost Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Shakopee, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract position ideal for individuals with strong expertise in cost accounting and manufacturing environments. The role offers a flexible work schedule, requiring on-site presence three days a week. Responsibilities:• Manage and maintain item masters, including the setup of new costs and accurate data entry.• Conduct month-end processes, such as analyzing warranty expenses, freight costs, and inventory adjustments.• Perform variance analysis to identify significant trends and discrepancies.• Utilize Oracle and Excel tools, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and HLOOKUP functions, to support cost analysis.• Collaborate with the assistant controller and other stakeholders to improve accuracy in financial reporting.• Develop and maintain standard cost accounting procedures within a manufacturing environment.• Analyze and interpret cost data to provide actionable insights for business decisions.• Ensure attention to detail in all aspects of cost accounting to maintain data integrity.• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization.
