Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant for a 4–6-month project to start immediately. This role is hybrid with in office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As the Cost Accountant, you will provide comprehensive financial support to the Operations team, focusing on Manufacturing and Supply Chain activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in cost accounting and variance analysisKey Responsibilities:Expense Analysis and Variance Explanation:Support leaders in Operations by analyzing Manufacturing and Supply Chain expenses, providing detailed variance explanations, and actionable insights.Cost Accounting Systems:Assist in the development and maintenance of cost accounting systems and ensuring proper documentation and records.Warranty and Tooling Calculations:Oversee warranty reserve calculations and tooling cost assessments to ensure accurate financial reporting.Freight Analysis:Perform detailed freight cost analysis to identify patterns, savings opportunities, and cost efficiencies.Product Costing and New Product Introductions:Support product setup and costing, including participation in the introduction of new products to ensure accurate cost allocation and operational readiness.Inventory Management:Assist in inventory cycle counts and verify inventory levels on hand to align with manufacturing needs and financial reporting accuracy.Variance Analysis for Cross-Functional Teams:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver financial analysis related to costs and results, leveraging prior experience with variance analysis.Budget Preparation:Engage in the preparation of the annual Manufacturing and Supply Chain Budget, ensuring accurate standard costs, proper absorption rates, and alignment with operational goals.Required Skills and Qualifications:Prior experience with variance analysis and cost accounting is a must.Prior experience working with a large ERP such as Oracle, WorkDay, SAP, or JDEStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large sets of data and provide meaningful insights.Experience with warranty reserve calculations, tooling cost assessments, and freight analysis.Familiarity with inventory management, cycle counts, and product costing.Proficient in collaborating across cross-functional teams to drive financial performance.Proven ability to assist in annual budget preparation and maintain compliance with corporate accounting policies.Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for operational efficiency and accuracy.If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact our Managment Resources office.
