Criminal Defense Paralegal

Robert Half is partnering with a firm, seeking a Criminal Defense Paralegal for their Encino location. The ideal Paralegal will have at least a year of criminal defense experience, specifically with DUIs, and know how to draft subpoenas. This is a contract position with the potential to transition to a direct hire employee.

Responsibilities:

• Open new cases and manage the initial documentation process.

• Draft and send introductory letters to clients.

• Coordinate and request hearings, ensuring accurate scheduling and rescheduling.

• Provide court updates to clients who have attended hearings.

• Facilitate communication with prospective clients and forward relevant information to attorneys.

• Issue subpoenas to law enforcement agencies to obtain supplemental discovery.

• Conduct searches across court websites and district attorney offices to identify newly filed cases.

• 5 days on site in Encino as a contractor
• Contract with the potential to convert to a direct hire employee
• Starts as soon as January 26th
  

• 1 year of criminal defense experience

• Commutable to Encino

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and attorneys.

• Familiarity with issuing subpoenas.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
