REMOTE opportunity - Director of RCM
We are looking for an experienced and driven Director of Revenue Cycle Management to lead and optimize our financial operations in Richmond, Virginia. This role is critical to ensuring efficient revenue cycle processes, improving cash flow, and driving operational excellence for our organization. The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership and expertise in healthcare revenue cycle management, along with a proven ability to enhance performance and implement innovative solutions. This will manage a fairly large team ( 40 ), so prior supervision is required.
Responsibilities:
• Drive operational excellence in revenue cycle management to enhance billing accuracy, reduce accounts receivable days, and improve cash flow.
• Identify and implement technology advancements and operational improvements to streamline processes and reduce administrative costs.
• Collaborate with organizational leadership to develop strategies that improve efficiency and support revenue cycle initiatives.
• Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Lead billing office teams in achieving positive outcomes across all revenue cycle functions.
• Provide accurate revenue projections and communicate regularly with leadership to support financial planning and decision-making.
• Develop and execute performance improvement plans and oversee financial operations for central business functions.
• Analyze current processes, identify gaps, and implement solutions to achieve optimal operational and financial results.
• Monitor and evaluate quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Create systems and policies to address appeals, denials, and exception handling, ensuring efficient resolution of billing issues.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management.
• Expertise in revenue cycle processes, including billing, collections, and accounts receivable management.
• Strong knowledge of central billing office operations and hospital revenue cycle functions.
• Proficiency in using and implementing EHR systems. namely ECW.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive financial and operational improvements.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data and drive actionable insights.
• Leadership experience in overseeing large-scale financial initiatives and change management.
• In-depth understanding of governmental and private payer payment methodologies and compliance requirements.
*Prior knowledge of FQHC's is required.
