Dispatcher

We are looking for a dedicated Dispatcher to join our team in Henrico, Virginia. This role is a contract to permanent position, offering the opportunity to transition into a long-term role with a significant pay raise upon conversion. The ideal candidate will excel in coordinating logistics and ensuring efficient communication within a fast-paced environment. PLEASE NOTE: This shift runs from 3am-11am, M-F. You must be able to work this shift in order to be considered for the position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate dispatch operations, ensuring timely and accurate communication with drivers and customers.

• Utilize computer-aided dispatch systems to monitor routes and address any issues that arise.

• Provide exceptional customer service by handling inquiries, resolving complaints, and maintaining positive interactions.

• Schedule and oversee logistics to optimize efficiency and meet deadlines.

• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations during overnight shifts.

• Maintain detailed and accurate records of dispatch activities.

• Collaborate with other departments to address operational challenges and implement solutions.

• Follow company protocols to ensure compliance with safety and service standards.

• Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to adapt to changing priorities or emergencies.

• Conduct regular checks to ensure all equipment and systems are functioning properly.

• Proven experience in dispatching or a related role.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to handle inquiries professionally.
• Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch systems and logistics coordination.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work overnight shifts, including breaks and lunch periods.
• Proficiency in using technology and software relevant to dispatch operations.
• Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of service and safety.
