We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Financial Aid Analyst in the Education industry, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role involves the evaluation and processing of financial aid applications, utilizing specialized software, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities :
- Evaluate financial aid applications based on established criteria
- Use 3rd party software for data entry and analysis
- Maintain a tracking Excel spreadsheet for application reviews
- Issue financial aid to eligible applicants using Facts software
- Ensure accurate data importation, sorting, and matching fields in Excel
- Make judgement calls and offer recommendations based on analysis
- Collaborate with the accounting department for efficient processing
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly
- Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions
- Maintain accurate customer credit records.
- Proficiency in Accounting Functions is required
- Experience with Auditing is necessary
- Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations is essential
- Familiarity with Student Financial Aid processes and regulations
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are desired
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs and guidelines
- Proficiency in using financial management software and systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations
- Experience in an educational setting or financial aid office is a plus.
