Full Charge Bookkeeper

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a skilled Construction Bookkeeper with advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and substantial experience with AIA billing processes for our Bellaire, TX office. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of construction accounting and job costing, support project managers with billing needs, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple construction projects using QuickBooks.
• Prepare and process AIA G702/G703 applications for payment, including tracking retainage, lien releases, change orders, and compliance with contract billing requirements.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions related to construction projects.
• Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and project accounts on a regular basis.
• Support project managers and leadership with reporting, job cost analysis, and financial projections.
• Assist with payroll processing, vendor management, and document control as needed.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, company processes, and local/federal regulations.

Requirements:

• Proven bookkeeping experience in the construction industry.
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online).
• Demonstrated expertise with AIA billing/forms and job cost accounting.
• Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and clients.
• Familiarity with lien waivers, insurance certificates, and contract administration preferred.

Education & Experience:

• Associate degree in accounting, business, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 2-4 years as a construction bookkeeper utilizing QuickBooks and AIA documentation.
