Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Manager in the legal industry located in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves planning, implementing, and managing HR programs and projects in collaboration with senior leadership. The HR Manager will be responsible for administering HR policies, processes, functions, and advocacy across various areas including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of all HR-related functions.
  • Execute recruitment strategy, overseeing internal efforts, and maintaining relationships with external recruiters.
  • Oversee the new employee onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with leadership to evaluate company benefits and manage the annual benefits renewal process.
  • Conduct periodic compensation survey research and collaborate with leadership to ensure competitive pay.
  • Provide HR expertise and support to department leaders in areas such as recruitment, employment law, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Ensure tracking and timely completion of required corporate trainings.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with employment laws at all levels.
  • Lead employee engagement activities to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Offer thoughtful recommendations to leadership on HR strategy and process improvements aligned with the company mission.
  • Present HR key performance indicators and recommendations to leadership as requested.
  • Manage and mentor the HR staff, setting goals, and providing ongoing training.
  • Manage the departmental budget.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in an HR Manager role or similar
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Benefit Functions and Compensation Administration
  • Proven experience in Compliance and Employee Relations
  • Proficiency in using ADP for payroll management
  • Experience in HR Leadership is essential
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Employee performance management
  • A professional qualification in Human Resources or related field is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
