Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Network Administrator in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role involves maintaining the integrity and high availability of our company's voice, data and wireless network infrastructure. You will be working within a team environment that spans across multiple locations.
Responsibilities:
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
Design and implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment.
Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.
Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Network Administrator or related role
Proven skills in working with Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies
Knowledge and experience with EO/IR systems
Proficiency in Firewall Technologies including Fortinet Firewalls
Familiarity with Microsoft products and Active Directory
Experience with Backup Technologies is essential
Ability to handle Computer Hardware and Configuration Management tasks
Demonstrated skills in network Design
Experience with VPN Technologies is a must
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.
