We are in search of a Payroll Administrator to join our team in Arroyo Grande, California. In this role, you will handle the coordination and processing of weekly payroll, including the management of time records, payroll statistics, and control records. You will also be tasked with labor compliance activities, such as creating and submitting certified payroll reports.Responsibilities:• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll, taking into account wage garnishments, benefits deductions, and tax withholdings in line with union and government regulations.• Input and review changes related to new hires, terminations, and other payroll-related amendments in the payroll system.• Respond to employee inquiries on taxes, deductions, and other factors influencing their paychecks.• Investigate discrepancies in payroll and compute back pay adjustments for employees.• Prepare and submit Certified Payroll reports and compliance statements on a weekly basis.• Generate relevant payroll and Certified Payroll reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.• Assist in preparing payroll tax returns, managing accruals, and fulfilling additional reconciliation requirements as part of the monthly closing process.• Ensure the secure maintenance and updating of sensitive employee data in accordance with relevant policies.• Collaborate with Human Resources on Wage & Hour Compliance and other projects as required.• Liaise with Project Management to ensure accuracy and scope of work details for the preparation of union, certified payroll, and job costing.• Develop and maintain a payroll manual to provide clear instructions on payroll and certified payroll tasks.• Review current payroll practices and procedures, recommending and implementing improvements where necessary.• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of rules and laws affecting payroll administration practices.• Ensure functional proficiency in the company's ERP system/software and uphold its data integrity.• Uphold all workplace safety policies, procedures, and rules.
