The Sr. Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our operations by reconciling account balances, preparing financial statements, assessing internal controls, and supervising accounting staff.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Prepare financial statements that adhere to standard accounting principles
- Evaluate internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas, to improve operational efficiency
- Provide support in budget preparation and conduct monthly budget variance analyses
- Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules for accurate reporting and forecasting
- Assist with initial internal control evaluations to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations
- Supervise accounting staff, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment
- Utilize accounting software such as Microsoft Excel to perform duties such as generating journal entries and assisting with month-end close
- Use skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy in all accounting tasks.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
- Proficient in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations is mandatory
- Must have a strong understanding of General Ledger management
- Able to prepare and analyze Journal Entries
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is necessary
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
