Robert Half is currently working with a new firm in Madison seeking a Tax Accountant. The Tax Accountant will assist with business and individual tax returns as well as work with management on cultivating strong client relationships. Responsibilities:
- Monitor client compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations
- Provide management with information regarding the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
- Identify tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings and create solutions
- Determine legal tax savings and generate ways to improve profits
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax reports, ensuring accuracy
- Organize any outsourced tax preparation work
- Maintain good industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
- Manage the company's tax database and put together tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, and reports
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- CPA highly preferred or CPA eligible
- 2 years of public or corporate tax preferred but not required
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Must be a creative thinker and have strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
