The tasks and responsibilities required of the Maintenance Technician are outlined below:
- Maintenance Supervisor reviews priorities and projects with the associate(s). The facility projects and expectations are, testing, repairing, inspecting, coordinating, pm's and others as assigned.
- Must be able to safely train new battery changers and monitor experienced personnel. Maintain inventory of battery room parts and always have required supplies readily available.
- Frequent but not all responsibilities include:
- Painting inside and outside the facility, including the roof
- Rack repairs and moves
- Dock Equipment such as locks, ramps, fuses, cleaning, etc.
- General Maintenance
- Roof repair
- Concrete repair, such as, guard gate stands, parking stops, potholes in the yard, etc.
- Plumbing, including all automated vales.
- Floor joint repair
- Lighting fixtures such as, bulbs, ballasts, wiring
- MHE battery repair, such as watering system and cables
- Electrical/Mechanical to include VFD, PLC and photo eye maintenance & troubleshooting abilities.
- Maintain the fire system including repair, preventive maintenance, inspections, accurate documentation, protectowire, extinguishers and emergency preparedness, such as Assistant Pump/Equipment Operator.
- Complete weekly and monthly inspections for the diesel generator as assigned.
- Perform other preventive maintenance projects as assigned along with a demonstrated ability to neatly and accurately complete records or work orders.
- Occasionally work with Sanitation to prepare for inspections or to assist with cleaning up the warehouse.
- Maintenance associates will strive to repair and resolve any issues 24/7. Must respond to off hour emergencies.
- Maintenance associates are required to occasionally work overtime including weekends and nights to complete projects. All projects are to be completed in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Must think independently when the Facility Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor are not present.
- Assist with identifying and eliminating any security or safety issues.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a facility maintenance role with a proven track record of similar duties.
- Must be experienced with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, pneumatics and hydraulics, welding, machine repairs, etc.
- Strong communication skills both orally and written required. Must be able to maintain a positive, professional and pro-active attitude in a fast paced and changing environment. This includes interactions with co-workers and contractors.
- Work requires significant attention to detail in safety, record keeping, logs, inspection and testing.
- Requires having ability to use a variety of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet.
- High school diploma (minimum), 2-year degree in a technical field, preferred.
- Must be able to repeatedly bend, grasp, push, pull, lift and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. throughout the day.
- Must be able to work at heights up to 50 ft. for extended periods, both inside and out using different equipment such as an aerial boom lift, scissor lift and order picker.
