Position Overview:
We are seeking a Transportation Coordinator/Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating and providing safe transportation for residents to and from appointments, day programs, and community activities. The Transportation Coordinator will also ensure that all transportation schedules, vehicle maintenance, and documentation meet regulatory and agency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport residents to medical appointments, day programs, and community outings.
- Escort and assist residents during medical and therapy appointments as needed.
- Coordinate daily and weekly transportation schedules with group home staff.
- Maintain detailed transportation logs, mileage records, and appointment documentation.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and maintained according to agency and safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with nursing, case management, and direct care staff regarding transportation needs.
- Assist with occasional errands such as pharmacy pickups or supply runs for the homes.
- Ensure compliance with all Russo Care policies, including HIPAA and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist individuals in/out of vehicles safely.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; reliable and punctual.
Schedule & Pay:
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend or evening transportation needs.
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
- Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use if agency vehicle is unavailable.
