Senior Assembler

Saab, Inc. is growing! We are expanding our workforce in our new Cranston, RI manufacturing facility creating the next generation of Autonomous Undersea Vehicles and are seeking a Senior Assembler to join our Manufacturing / Production team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Work from work instructions, wire diagrams, and engineering drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools as necessary to complete required assemblies.

• Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.

• Understand sophisticated electro-mechanical assembly operations concepts and how they can be applied to resolve complex issues and meet the company objectives.

• Understand ESD principles and safeguarding. Proper use of hand tools such as wire cutters, strippers & crimpers.

• Identify tasks to resolve independently.

• May review the work of other non-exempt personnel.

• Be involved in process improvement and development.

Compensation Range: $24.13-$28.36

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 4 years of related electromechanical assembly experience.

• Experience may include advanced support skills and extensive knowledge of tools, software, and other technologies.

• General electronic soldering skills and inspection requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be self-mobile and able to stand for extended periods.

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, bending, stooping, walking, climbing, reaching during a normal workday.

• Ability to perform repetitive motions (such as lifting or assembly of parts) including the use of handheld power tools.

• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

• Ability to work extended hours when required.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
