Job Overview:
As a Direct Support Professional at Safe and Secure Homecare, you will be vital in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. You will provide assistance with daily activities, promote community integration, and ensure the health and safety of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Support clients in activities of daily living, including meal preparation, medication management, and household chores
- Facilitate community outings and social activities to promote independence and socialization
- Document client progress, behavior, and any incidents according to company policies
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other team members to provide holistic care to clients
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must pass a background check (Note: Safe and Secure Homecare does not inquire about criminal backgrounds as part of the hiring process)
