What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator position at Samuel, Son & Co., Limited?
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Unloading all incoming deliveries from vendors, verifying arriving material matches the Samuel PO’s, verifying the vendors have been approved suppliers. Counting and measuring all material to assure it meets or exceeds specifications. Notating any defects or non-conformances. Scanning or forward all test reports for imaging into the Samuel imaging system, receiving material into the AS400, printing tags, attaching tags to material, putting material into the proper location. In addition to these responsibilities to fill in as needed in various warehouse duties, including managing scrap and mill claims.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Unloading all incoming vendor shipments and locate to proper location
- Receive material against Samuel PO’s into the AS400
- Assuring all material has been tagged with a Samuel stock tag and is visible.
- Scan documents into the Samuel imaging system - Verify all vendors are approved
- Reporting any non-conformance or defective material to the Quality Dept.
- Work well with others, communicate issues, material discrepancies, and supplier problems
- Following all Samuel Safety policies, and ISO procedures
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, experience, certifications, licenses or special skills): Grade 12 or equivalent
- Communication skills; People skills; Familiar with equipment and product is an asset; Familiar with ISO quality systems; Computer skills (Word, Excel, AS400).
