Job Title: Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator
Location: Lake Havasu City, AZ
Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
Signing Bonus: $15,000.00 (for a commitment of 3 years)
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Pharmacy Director, the Clinical Pharmacist performs clinical and professional pharmaceutical work within the hospital setting. This role involves extensive collaboration with various stakeholders, including administration, medical staff, nursing service, and external parties such as vendors and auditors. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing and leading clinical activities within the pharmacy department, ensuring adherence to standards of practice, and promoting quality and patient safety in medication management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Oversight: Provide pharmaceutical care and clinical services to patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. Conduct medication therapy management, pharmacotherapy consultations, and drug utilization reviews.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy and patient care outcomes. Provide guidance and support to pharmacy staff on clinical matters.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in pharmacy services. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance medication safety and effectiveness.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency in medication management. Implement and monitor initiatives to streamline workflows and improve patient care delivery.
- Education and Training: Provide education and training to pharmacy staff, healthcare professionals, and patients on medication-related topics, including drug interactions, adverse effects, and proper medication administration.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of clinical activities, interventions, and outcomes. Prepare reports and presentations as required by pharmacy leadership and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- License: Current pharmacist license to practice in the state required on hire.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of previous hospital pharmacy experience.
- Certification: Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other relevant specialty certification preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment: Willingness to commit to a minimum of 3 years of service to receive the signing bonus.
Nice-To-Haves:
- 5 years as a pharmacist in a critical care hospital.
- Experience in a lead or leadership role within a pharmacy setting.
