Director of New Fund Development

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of New Fund Development for a mission-driven, community-focused philanthropic organization. This is a hybrid role based in Louisville, KY, offering a unique opportunity to drive charitable impact through relationship-building, education, and innovative fund development.

POSITION OVERVIEW

In this outward-facing leadership role, the Director of New Fund Development is responsible for expanding charitable impact by cultivating new donor relationships and opening new funds. Partnering closely with internal stakeholders, this role develops and executes outreach strategies that grow a strong pipeline of prospective fundholders and referral partners. This position is ideal for a relationship-driven professional who enjoys community engagement, storytelling, and helping individuals and organizations achieve their philanthropic goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute outreach strategies to attract new fundholders and referral partners
• Cultivate relationships with individuals, families, and organizations interested in charitable giving
• Represent the organization at community events, professional associations, and networking opportunities
• Plan and host educational events and experiences that introduce charitable giving opportunities
• Deliver presentations and educational sessions on philanthropic strategies and fund options
• Guide prospective fundholders through the process of establishing new charitable funds

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated success in relationship-driven roles such as development, fundraising, sales, wealth advisory, or community engagement
• Comfort engaging with diverse audiences, including individuals, families, and professional advisors
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport
• Collaborative, self-motivated approach with sound judgment and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to philanthropy, community impact, and inclusive relationship-building

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is a full-time, exempt position offering an annual salary up to $95K (DOE).
