We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team at our vibrant café. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate cash registers and POS systems efficiently while handling cash transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including workstations, equipment, and dining areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions about menu items.
- Engage with customers to create a friendly and inviting atmosphere while promoting sales through excellent service.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies; assist in ordering as needed.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to coffee preparation and customer service.
Skills
- Proficient in cash handling and operating cash registers or POS systems.
- Knowledgeable about coffee types, brewing methods, and food safety practices.
- Strong retail math skills for managing transactions accurately.
- Experience in food preparation is preferred but not required.
- Excellent sales skills with the ability to upsell menu items effectively.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced café environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly demeanor to engage effectively with customers.
- A team player who is willing to help colleagues as needed.
