What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Technician (Utilities Division) position at Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners?
Perform technical work in the operation and maintenance of water distribution systems involving office duties and extensive exposure to work in field conditions.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description. Qualified candidates can expect to start at $18.00/hr.

Assist other staff in maintenance, repair and construction of water distribution systems.
Reads water meters and turns services on and off at customer request or for discontinuance of service due to non-payment.
Completes required field paperwork. Documents work performed in required log books and/or work order management system.
Responsible for adherence to proper safety standards and procedures. Maintains all safety equipment and related records.
May be required to operate various types of small maintenance equipment to perform assigned job tasks.
Additional Duties
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
Must possess High school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver License, Class "E", and a valid Florida Commercial Driver License is preferred but not required.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Must have the ability to operate small gas powered equipment such as a gas mower, tractor or other similar equipment.
Must have the ability to read blue prints and maps.
Must have normal color vision and hearing.
Must have ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.
Department Specific trainings per position may be required.
