Overview

The Accounting Manager, Hospitality position reports to the Director Hospitality Accounting and will be responsible for accounting duties. The position will supervise, monitor accounts receivable and all day-to-day accounting activities, responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accountsreceivable and general ledger
  • Performs and assists with balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis and preparesand posts complex journal entries to General Ledger as needed
  • Manage subordinate staff, auditing methods and procedure of accounts receivable functionto improve efficiency.
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, andmaintaining strong employee relationships
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Oversee process of invoicing customers, ensuring accurate accounts receivable records andverifying outstanding balances.
  • Create financial reports related to accounts receivable function and status of accounts.
  • Lead and participate in accurate and timely publication of P&L
  • Lead and coordinate external auditor requirements
  • Lead and coordinate audit of Franchisee fees based on the audited financial statementsreceived from their external auditors
  • Participate and lead departmental projects from inception to implementation
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Required to maintain functions in accordance

Qualifications

MINIMUM

  • Master’s degree in Accounting as well as minimum seven (7) years of accounting andsupervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain satisfactory and effective relationships with all levelsof management, staff members and external business partners
  • Experience in reconciling functions, recording journal entries, reviewing P&L’s and balancesheets, reporting functions
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical skills.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline drivenenvironment
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of major accounting software packages.Infinium(AS400) and Lawson ERP system knowledge preferred
  • Expert skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Capable of handling advanced accounting concepts with minimal supervision and ability towork within deadlines.
  • Must have knowledge of, and be able to apply, U.S. Generally Accepted AccountingPrinciples (GAAP).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to move throughout the corporate office (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending)for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to occasionally, move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
