Overview
Have you experienced being a parent or a legal guardian of a child receiving or who received services through child welfare, probation, or specialty mental health? At Seneca, we seek a compassionate and assertive individual to give back to our communities by becoming our next Bilingual Family Partner.
As a Bilingual Family Partner, you will provide peer support to family members of clients receiving START and Wraparound services. You will be responsible for working individually with family members to engage them in the process, increase their involvement, and assist them in achieving their care plan goals. The Family Partner will perform a wide range of activities in order to function as a member of the supporting team as well as provide individual support to the parents.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
In this role, you will support the Short Term Assessment and Treatment Program (START) and the Wraparound Programs, which are part of the Unconditional Care© model continuum of services. Focuses on providing family members of youth receiving community-based services with exceptionally integrated, coordinated service to youth who frequently utilize crisis services and may be involved in the child welfare and/or juvenile justice system. The Wraparound program aim to provide children and their families with the support and services they need to maintain the lowest level of care possible and avoid out-of-home placements (group homes, juvenile hall, and hospitalization).

- Work with the treatment team to provide mental health services as needed in client homes, school, or community settings.
- Provide and communicate guidance, expertise, and support for Family Partners within the Family Partner team.
- Provide non-judgmental, unconditional support to children and families participating in the Seneca Family of Agency Programs.
- Act as a member of the Child and Family Team, designated as the individual support person to the parent or identified family member.
- Assist with coordinating and providing transportation for school, therapy, court hearings, or other pertinent treatment appointments/activities.
- Provide on-call coverage to the clients and their families to community-based resources.
- Participate in all treatment reviews, program staff meetings, in-service trainings, and IEP meetings when necessary.
- Complete progress notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated.
- Participate in individual supervision with both program supervisors weekly as well as group supervision with designee
- Participate in weekly team meetings for both the START and Wraparound programs
Qualifications
Required:
- Personal lived experience as a parent/legal guardian of a child who has been the recipient of services through the child welfare system, probation or specialty mental health
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekend days
- Own vehicle, valid California driver's license, and insurability with Seneca's automobile policy
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Clearance of TB test, fingerprints and any other mandatory state/federal requirements
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
Preferred:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- Experience or interest in working with families
- Excellent critical-thinking and organizational skills
Schedule
- Full-time
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends
Benefits
- Current rate is $24.50 - $27 per hour; as of July 9, 2023, the range for this position will be $25.16 - $27.66 per hour
- Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
