The Family Partner provides intensive support for families of young children with complex needs. The young child may have severe behavioral and/or emotional difficulties, mental health needs, or developmental delays. The Wraparound team works with the family to minimize and resolve problems and achieve goals that are important to family members for a more stable and balanced family life. Services are provided to families across all socioeconomic levels, at their home, the clinic and in the community, as needed by the family.
Essential Functions:
- Gather, maintain, and provide information about community resources to parents and families.
- Conduct outreach to parents and families new to the program or services inviting involvement in parent support groups and other activities.
- Attend staff support family involvement meetings, trainings, and direct services, which may include: sending out reminders, home visits, child care arrangements, agenda, meeting facilitation, transportation, or cleanup.
- Participate in training to enhance skills regarding parent rights and responsibilities in order to respond to parent and family questions, and to direct them to available resources.
- Represent parent issues from the Family Involvement Group in assigned geographical areas and serve as liaison to reply information both ways. Encourage other parents and family members to become involved.
- Ability to utilize computer systems and software such as Word, Excel, Gmail and more.
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: Must be a parent or primary caregiver of a child who has an intellectual or developmental disability, special education needs, mental health, juvenile justice and/or fragile medical needs.
- Valid CA Driver’s license, a good driving record
- Must have own car to use for work purposes (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Must be able to communicate well orally and in writing, in English and Spanish.
Position: Family Partner
Pay: $24 per hour
Location: Pittsburg, CA (providing services in contra costa county)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week, depending on program need. Full time benefits offered.
