Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000 (bonus and overtime eligible)
Job Overview:
A multidisciplinary AECM firm with a strong East Coast presence is seeking experienced Construction Inspectors to join their team. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity supporting infrastructure projects across the Trenton and South Jersey region. The role will involve both office presence and frequent travel to job sites.
The firm is looking for candidates with 2.5 to 3 years of construction inspection experience, particularly in bridge, highway, or structural projects. Experience with railroad construction and familiarity with NJ DOT or NJ Transit guidelines is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site inspections of bridge, highway, and rail-related construction projects.
- Ensure contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Create detailed daily inspection reports, including photographic documentation.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and agency representatives to resolve issues promptly.
- Identify construction deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Support quantity tracking and documentation for payment verification.
- Enforce site safety protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2.5 to 3 years of experience in construction inspection (bridge, highway, or structural).
- Experience working on railroad-related construction projects.
- Familiarity with NJ DOT and/or NJ Transit inspection procedures is strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with field reporting tools and inspection documentation software.
Preferred Certifications:
- NICET Level II or III in Transportation/Construction Materials Testing or similar discipline.
- Equivalent field experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
