Position for hire: Permit Coordinator
Job Description
The Permit Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all necessary permits are obtained in a timely manner to support the construction schedule. This role involves working closely with municipal offices and construction teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
As a new company, the current position will have substantial administrative duties as well and the candidate must be able to wear multiple hats. The candidate must be able to implement processes and workflows in order to help build a highly efficient company.
Key Responsibilities
- Permit Management: Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for residential construction projects, including building, zoning, and utility[SW1] permits. Monitor the status of permit applications and expedite the process as needed. Maintain detailed records of all permits, fees, expiration dates, and related documentation.
- Compliance: Research and stay updated on local building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations. Ensure all projects comply with permitting requirements and relevant regulations. Communicate any regulatory changes to the construction teams.
- Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between the company and government agencies or municipalities. Work with in house team and subcontractors to provide accurate documentation for permit submissions. Coordinate inspections required for permit approvals.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain organized filing systems for permits, drawings, and other related documents. Track and manage permit-related expenses. Prepare reports and updates on permit status for management and project teams.

Responsibilities: Coordinate with the pre-construction and construction teams to create a smooth process flow for sites going from pre-construction to construction. Responsible for tracking and reporting to the client for subcontractor updates, permit application submittals, permit approval status, local jurisdiction inspections, tracking job assignments, and assisting with invoicing Draft correspondences and other formal documents, and schedule appointments, inspections, and client move outs. Answer inbound telephone calls. Implement organized filing systems to coordinate with existing company standards. Perform all other office tasks as necessary. Requirements Prior construction experience is highly desired, but not required. Previous experience in office administration or other related fields Ability to prioritize and multitask. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills Some travel may be required (under 5%) Valid driver license with reliable transportation.
