Logistics Coordinator

:POSITION SUMMARY:

This position coordinates and checks incoming and outgoing distribution/transportation of cargo. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Required Skills

• 2 years of experience in the transportation and distribution industry; to include Import, documentation, coordinating inland trucking for LCL/FCL (Less/Full Container Load), cargo consolidation/deconsolidation, warehouse distribution programs to include segregation, cross-dock, PO management, retail distribution, vendor consigned shipments, special programs, etc.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge in motor carrier load tendering, routing, rate activities, ocean import activities, freight tracing and expediting activities.
• Knowledge in supply chain distribution activities to include order processing and replenishment programs.
• Basic to Intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
• Strong time management and organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize and be detail oriented.
• Ability to work with limited supervision, multi-task and possess strong initiative.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors and fellow employees.
• Ability to think logically and follow procedures and instructions.
• Ability to work extended hours, holidays and weekends, as needed.
