South Shore Early Education a program of the South Shore Community Action Council - a private non-profit providing multi-level program support on the South Shore, Cape Cod, and the Islands, seeks a full-time certified Teacher Assistant candidate. (30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)
POSITION: 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Core Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers to create and maintain a safe and healthy physical environment that fosters the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. Perform teaching activities under the supervision of the teacher, while assuming a lead role in working with varying groups of children. Meal assistance, bus monitoring, and other various activities as assigned.
Core Qualifications:
Massachusetts DEEC Teacher Certification required & related experience of a minimum of two years in a preschool or similar program. AA/AS degree preferred, or in process in early education or related field. Bi-lingual (Portuguese, Arabic, or Spanish) is preferred although not required. Must speak and understand English.
Minimum Requirements at employment:
All candidates must undergo a CORI, DCF, SORI, and fingerprint background check; prior to beginning employment.
