Assistant Project Manager – Data Center Construction
Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of mission-critical data center projects. This role assists project leadership and field teams in managing schedules, costs, documentation, and quality across highly technical environments. The APM plays a key role in supporting onsite coordination, subcontractor management, and client reporting while developing the skills required for long-term growth in data center project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support safe execution of mission-critical construction activities
- Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and reports
- Assist with cost tracking, budget updates, and procurement activities
- Support preconstruction efforts, including bid packages and subcontractor coordination
- Participate in project meetings and assist with milestone tracking and client updates
- Manage core project workflows such as RFIs, submittals, and pay applications
- Assist with schedule updates and coordination of trade activities
- Support quality control efforts, particularly related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Assist with change management documentation and subcontractor coordination
- Support commissioning and turnover activities, including as-built documentation and closeout packages
- Collaborate closely with field supervision, MEP teams, and site operations throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 2–5 years of experience in commercial or mission-critical construction
- Exposure to data center, industrial, or high-tech facilities preferred (not required)
- Experience working with a commercial general contractor strongly preferred
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
