St. Mary of the Assumption School located in the heart of Brookline Villiage (67 Harvard Street) is seeking an individual to be our 4th-grade homeroom teacher and teacher of Religious Education and English Language Arts for the 2024-2025 school year. The teacher would create lesson plans, assessments, and projects and deliver instruction for students. A suitable candidate would have teaching experience and strong references. Teaching Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons for Grade 4 students, following the curriculum provided by the school and the diocese. Implement a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Assess and evaluate student progress through regular quizzes, tests, projects, and other assignments. Spiritual Formation: Infuse Catholic values and teachings into daily lessons, fostering a faith-based learning environment. Lead prayer and religious activities, integrating spirituality into the curriculum. Encourage students to develop a personal relationship with God and a sense of moral responsibility. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and improve the Grade 4 curriculum, ensuring alignment with Catholic teachings. Integrate religious education with other subjects to provide a holistic educational experience. Parental Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns. Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student development. Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest educational trends, teaching methodologies, and Catholic educational principles. Attend professional development opportunities provided by the school or diocese. Participation in Catholic School Community: Actively engage in the broader Catholic school community, participating in school events, religious celebrations, and community service activities. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to uphold the school's mission and values. Discipline and Classroom Management: Implement fair and consistent discipline policies aligned with the school's guidelines. Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning. Professionalism: Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Catholic Educators, demonstrating a commitment to Catholic principles both inside and outside the classroom.
