What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supported Employment Counselor position at Starbridge?
Work flexible hours supporting individuals with disabilities to find and keep employment.
Our Supported Employment Counselors have the opportunity to instruct, assist and support individuals with disabilities to explore the current job market.
Supported Employment Counselors will build new and existing relationships with local business and provide adults individualized on-site training and support.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least a High School diploma and experience supporting individuals with disabilities required. Associate’s Degree preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid New York State driver’s license and a registered, insured vehicle with a suitable driving record.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Attention to detail.
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
- Multi tasks and manages priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and the Internet.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position requires frequent meetings at multiple locations across Monroe County.
