- This position will assist the Corrections Warden 4/Security Operations in the management of all security and other operational functions affecting EHCC on a twenty-four-hour per day basis.
1. Six years of full-time experience in any field; or
2. A bachelor's degree.
OR
A master's degree plus two years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises; OR
A doctorate plus one year of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by State and Federal laws is granted.
In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (Part 115:17) of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified.

Job Duties:- Maintains a thorough knowledge of Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Correctional Services and EHCC Institutional directives, policies and procedures, State, Federal Laws and Acts, as well as requirements for ACA Standards compliance.
- The incumbent of this position will be responsible for supervising the overall operations of assigned Unit Security.
- Inspect the institution on a daily basis to ensure the proper execution of security, maintenance, and Life Safety Code requirements of the facility and equipment. Inspections are made before, during and after regular business hours and workdays.
- Inspects all buildings and the grounds to ensure proper security and other institutional procedures are enforced.
Appointment Type: THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED BY DETAIL OF A PERMANENT CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF LA DPS&C – CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC).
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
