Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) plus:A master's degree in social work followed by four years of social services experience.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.
Job Duties:
Manages the social services department. Supervises Social Workers and Social Services Counselors.
- Supervises and manages all social services operations during the 8 A.M.- 4:30 P.M. shift, including oversight of four care units, ensuring social services counselors and social workers staff coverage and high-quality resident care in a 156-bed long-term care facility.
- Leads and evaluates social services staff performance, provides feedback, recommends disciplinary actions if needed, and participates in staff orientation, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborates on and manages social services schedules, approve leave, and ensures adequate staffing is present.
- Conducts Quality Assurance audits and staff in-services, promoting continuous improvement in social worker care delivery and adherence to policy and procedure standards.
- Investigates and reports resident complaints and incidents, recommending corrective actions and collaborating with other departments to ensure coordinated care and resident safety.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-4:30 p.m.
