Public Health Division Southwest Region is comprised of eight counties and works to promote health and wellness, improve health outcomes, and assure safety net services for all people in New Mexico.
Why does the job exist?

This position will provide administrative support to the Southwest Region (SW) Disease Prevention Program staff and support other programs as needed. This position will serve as backup to Vital Records services. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
How does it get done?

This position will be responsible for:
  • Managing front office by providing administrative support as needed.
  • Assisting with client registrations, entering immunizations, scheduling appointments, answering phone.
  • Support Community Collaborative Care program staff in client enrollments and other assistance as assigned.
  • Provide Harm Reduction services and participate in outreach activities as assigned.
  • Coordinating clients with other programs as needed.
  • Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Serving as backup to Vital Records when needed.

Minimum Qualification

Eighth grade education.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPPA) and successful completion of Clinical Laboratory Improvements Act (CLIA) courses are required within sixty (60) days of employment.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Services are provided in a clinic with diverse population, many who do not speak the English language. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Travel to satellite offices, meetings, training sessions, and special events with the occasional overnight stay is required.
