Psychology Associate - Civil Center of Excellence

You will be working as a member of an on-site ward interdisciplinary team that includes psychiatry, nursing, social work, rehabilitation, and many more.
Western State Hospital is seeking a Psychology Associate to deliver direct psychological services to adults with acute psychiatric illness. Assigned to WSH's Civil Center for Excellence, you will gain insight into behavioral health illness treatment and help support the recovery process.
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Join our team and make a meaningful impact by providing vital support to people with serious behavioral illnesses. As a valued member of our staff, you will collaborate closely with people diagnosed with schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, bipolar disorders, and acute severe clinical depression. Your role will involve delivering both individual and group-based psychological interventions, playing a pivotal role in helping patients achieve their recovery and treatment objectives. In addition to this, you will be actively engaged in crafting and implementing treatment plans, providing essential guidance to steer treatment strategies and approaches.
Some of what you will be doing
- Design and implement group treatment interventions for up to 30 civilly committed patients
- Provide individual and group treatment daily using evidence-based treatment modalities
- Participate in ongoing literature review of current treatment interventions for use with patients diagnosed with behavioral health illness
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan treatment in accordance with hospital and CMS guidelines
- Document patient participation and progress
Who should apply
- Professionals with a master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology or related behavioral health field
- Possess current mental health license to practice independently (without clinical supervision) in State of Washington or a Certified or Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor license from State of Washington within 30 days of hire, or the ability to obtain such licenses within 30 days of hire
